Last season, the TAQ-V was a powerhouse in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as well as Warzone 2. This battle rifle had all the great traits of the TAQ-56, along with even better aspects like overall damage. Players were using it in all kinds of public games to get the most out of their loadouts.
In Season 2 of MW2, the TAQ-V was nerfed pretty hard, so you won’t see it around as much if players are aware of the changes. That doesn’t mean the weapon is terrible now, it just means it’s an average battle rifle at this point. Attachments are more important than ever to make it work, and we have them here in our loadout guide.
COD MW2 Season 2 – Best TAQ-V Loadout
The build for this battle rifle is similar to the one you would find on the TAQ-56, but there are some important differences. One of them includes a laser since this is for standard multiplayer and we have more options. Below you can find all of the necessary attachments.
TAQ-V Loadout:
- Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
- Underbarrel: Edge-47 Grip
- Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
- Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
- Laser: Schlager PEQ Box IV
Recoil is more of an issue here than with the TAQ-56 and we have a couple of pieces to fix that. The Edge-47 Grip underbarrel and the Sakin Tread-40 are necessary for maintaining good shots on the V. Make sure to tune the Sakin Tread for gun kick control and recoil, it makes a huge difference.
Next, we want the Demo Cleanshot Grip rear grip and the Schlager PEQ Box IV laser. Both of these offer up some major boosts to ADS speed, which is necessary for nearly every game mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. These can be tuned as well depending on the mobility you want.

Our last attachment for the TAQ-V in MW2 is the 7.62 High Velocity ammunition. You’ll see this ammo used on nearly every other assault rifle, and with the nerfs, we want the extra bullet speed.
