Season 2 Reloaded is live and one of the biggest changes made to Ranked Play was the removal of weapon tuning across the board. That means we have to rethink the loadout for the TAQ-56 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 so that the weapon can perform better without tuning.
The weapon itself wasn’t altered at all, so the base stats will all remain the same, making it the go-to assault rifle in Ranked Play. However, we need to utilize some of the other attachment slots now, especially after new stats have come out about the High Velocity ammunition. Our guide has everything you need for this MW2 loadout.
COD MW2 Season 2 Reloaded – Best TAQ-56 Loadout in Ranked Play
One of the biggest changes to attachments in the new update was ADS penalties on underbarrels. All underbarrel attachments have less of an ADS penalty, and that allows for heavier grips or another muzzle slot if you’d like. Below you can find the updated loadout for ranked.
TAQ-56 Ranked Play Loadout:
- Muzzle: Komodo Heavy
- Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Rear Grip: Demo Cleanshot Grip
- Stock: TV Cardinal Stock
The largest change here is the lack of a high-velocity ammunition attachment. These bullets aren’t as useful as they’ve been claimed to be, at least not in Multiplayer where the maps are much smaller. That means it’s essentially a waste of a slot as long as we have the tundra barrel.

With the open slot, we can use the sharkfin underbarrel and the Komodo Heavy muzzle to make the most of the ADS penalty update as well. These two pieces should make up for the change in weapon tuning that has altered control on the loadouts from earlier in the COD MW2 Ranked Play Season.
