How to Change Flashbang Brightness in COD MW2

No more eyeball assault.

Say goodbye to the constant barrage of white lights that have been assaulting your eyes in every public match possible. Season 2 Reloaded brought a new way to alter the effect of flashbangs in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and it’s available to everyone.

The new effect will essentially invert the color of your screen when a flashbang explodes around you. Now you’ll see darkness instead of blinding light with each and every explosion. This guide will cover how you can make the change in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2.

COD MW2 – How to Change Flashbang Brightness

To invert the effect of the flashes, you can head to the settings menu. We won’t need to jump into any of the general menus to enable the setting. Instead, when you open up the settings menu, there is a separate button to open up accessibility options, which is Triangle/Y on controller.

Once you’re in the accessibility settings, select the bottom option, which opens up all the possible settings. If you scroll down, you’ll find the “Inverted Flash” setting which should be set to on. Now all of the white flashing assault on your eyes should be toned down entirely.

With this setting, anytime you’re hit with a Flash Grenade, the screen will go black and will quickly go back to normal. This is much easier to look at on screen, and you’ll get used to it after just a few flashbangs are thrown at you. This won’t help much on Stuns, but the setting is certainly worth it in COD MW2.
