Best TAQ-56 Loadout in COD MW2 Ranked Play

The king of Season 2 Ranked Play.

With the recent nerf to the Vaznev-9k in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, you should expect to see plenty of TAQ-56 players running around the map. Better yet, you can make the best loadout possible for the meta assault rifle in the new Ranked Play mode.

While the Vaznev can still melt in close quarters, the TAQ-56 will be dominant in nearly every situation, and you’ll need at least one loadout ready. The loadout should be able to handle all three competitive modes and that’s exactly what we aim to build in this MW2 Ranked Play guide.

COD MW2 Ranked Play – Best TAQ-56 Loadout

For the TAQ, we want to prioritize the ADS on the weapon. We’ll also have plenty of stabilization and range boosters, but the ADS is integral to the AR putting up a fight in close quarters. Some slots can be adjusted. However, you should stick to the main five that we have listed below.

TAQ-56 Ranked Play Loadout:

  • Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
  • Rear Grip: FSS Combat Grip
  • Stock: TV XLine Pro
  • Ammunition: 5.56 Overpressured

Our two main sources of control will come from the 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel and the Phase-3 Grip. The Tundra is an obvious choice for the all-around range stats, but the Phase grip is debatable. It’s similar to other grips like the Edge-47 and it offers some hip fire accuracy as well.

The FSS Combat Grip rear grip will also help with Recoil Control, and we use this instead of a muzzle. Going without the muzzle saves us a decent amount of mobility on the TAQ-56 in Modern Warfare 2 and we still receive some extra control. However, you can throw on a Fulcrum if you must.

Both the TV XLine Pro stock and the 5.56 Overpressured ammunition are the last two attachments. The stock is a major boost to mobility and it won’t affect the control as much as some other choices. Using this stock and maximizing mobility is a great way to make the TAQ-56 the best all-around weapon. Then the over-pressured bullets will add velocity and we’re ready to steamroll enemies in Ranked Play.
