Best Stats to Level Up Early in Palworld

Your own stats are also important

While your fluffy companions are one of the main points of Palworld, this is still a Survival game at its core, so you need to do your best not to die. Leveling the best stats in the early game is essential to that, so here’s what you get first.

All Stats in Palworld Explained

You can check your status by opening your inventory and clicking Enhance Stats (Right Stick on controllers). You get a point for each level up, and you can spend it to enhance any of these stats:

  • HP: Increases your maximum Health.
  • Stamina: Increases your stamina bar.
  • Attack: Increases damage dealt with fists and weapons.
  • Defense: Decreases damage taken. Cannot be upgraded by leveling up.
  • Work Speed: Decreses time for building new objects.
  • Weight: Increases your maximum weight capacity.

Defense can be increased by wearing certain equipment such as shields and armor, so prioritize those items first if you feel like you’re dying too often.

Best Stats to Level Up During Early Game in Palworld

Surviving is rough, but it might be a bit easier if you have these upgrades as soon as possible:

Stamina: Stamina runs out extremely quickly at the beginning of the game, so this is one of the most valuable stats to get early. Try to get at least five points early to make your initial moments a bit less terrible.

Weight: In the same vein, your inventory will fill pretty quickly as you get more resources. To remedy this, get some early points in Weight as needed. But be sure to place your resources such as Stone and Wood on a Wooden Chest to avoid that, but having at least 500 maximum Weight would be great.

HP: Your Pals aren’t the only ones doing the fighting here. HP is essential to survive against dungeon bosses and stronger Pals across the world, so get a few points here until you get comfortable enough. Remember that Defense also plays a role here, but HP is easier to get early.

These are the most important upgrades for ensuring your survival. Attack is important, but your damage is mostly influenced by your weapons, so there’s no real need for leveling that early (especially once you get enough Pals). Work speed is also useful, but the initial constructions won’t take you more than a few seconds, so I wouldn’t say that it’s a priority either.

Once you get these stats rolling, your adventure in Palworld should be much smoother. So get on leveling your base as soon as possible to start challenging further enemies across the world.
