How to Cook Food & Make a Meal in Palworld

To cook food in Palworld, you’ll need to make a Campfire, or use another cooking device like the Cooking Pot. To unlock the Campfire, you’ll need to spend a point in the Technology tree. Once you have lit the campfire, approach the campfire and interact by pressing the Action button to access the list of available dishes. Select your desired dish and wait for it to cook. Finally, transfer the cooked dish to your inventory using the action button.

Best Types of Food for Pals

As wild creatures, you may be wondering what the best types of food are for Pals in Palworld, and we’ll tell you that you’re overthinking it. Your Pals will eat anything. Yes, even each other. You can feed Chikipi a Grilled Chikipi.

For the most part, the best types of food for Pals include:

  • Baked Berries
  • Red Berries
  • Eggs
  • Tomatoes
  • Milk

These five types of foods prove exceptionally easy to acquire, especially in the early game, and you can usually construct plantation plots to farm these items for yourself. Or, you can set up a farmstead with plenty of Chikipi to collect Eggs. It’s up to you.

To get cake in Palworld, you’ll first need to catch a Beegarde to produce honey at a ranch.

How to Get More Food for Your Pals

If you ever find yourself running low on food, the best tip we can offer is to forage for berries out in the wild. In the starting zone, Plateau of Beginnings, you’ll find an overwhelming abundance of berry bushes that provide multiple berries and seeds each time you harvest them. You can cook these berries or give them raw to your Pals; they’ll eat either.

But for a sustainable economy, especially one focused on feeding your workforce, you must construct the various plantation plots in your base. You’ll start with a berry plantation and eventually unlock Wheat, Tomatoes, and more.

To farm each plot, we recommend keeping a stable of useful Pals around, such as:

  • Lamball
  • Chikipi
  • Vixy
  • Cremis
  • Mozzarina
  • Caprity

These Pals all come equipped with Farming Level 1; some even have Gathering Level 1.

Best Food Recipes in Palworld

While you can feed yourself and your Pals anything in Palworld, typically, the more effort you put into a dish, the more nourishment it will provide. With that in mind, you’ll likely want to cook a few meals every now and then rather than eating nothing but raw berries off a bush. Here are some of the best food recipes in Palworld:

While the foods that net you the biggest stat benefits will require you to go out and hunt a few pals, many of the best foods in Palworld are rather simple to make, and for many of them, you can farm all the necessary ingredients right there on your base. Be sure you set up a few Berry, Wheat, and Tomato Plantations, set up a Mill to crush the wheat into Flour, and place down a couple of ranches to harvest Milk and Eggs from Mozzarina and Chikipi, respectively. These will net you a steady flow of ingredients that you can use to make all the food you could possibly need.

Tip:

You may also want to build a Cooler Box or Refrigerator to keep all your ingredients fresh and help them last longer.

Those are all the best foods in Palworld, many of which are vegetarian! But if all else fails, you can always butcher your Pals.
