Best Equipment, Materia, and Folios for Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7)

In FF7 Rebirth, Tifa is the queen of staggering. Her ability to dish out endless blows to her opponents can quickly build up pressure while overflowing her ATB gauge. By using Omnistrike and Rise and Fall while Unbridled Strength is active, she can multiply the damage an enemy takes while they’re staggered, making her a valuable asset for an offensive-based team.

Best Early Equipment for Tifa

  • Weapon – Tifa’s starting Leather Gloves are more than capable of carrying her through the early chapters. They’ll teach her the Divekick ability, which works great at finishing off opponents.
  • Armor – Most early-game armor works fine for Tifa, like Metal Bracer or Leather Bangle. When you’re able to transmute it, the Enhanced Copper Bracer can provide her adequate defense and two materia slots.
  • Accessory – To lean into Tifa’s offensive capabilities, the Power Wristguards are a safe bet.

Best Early Materia for Tifa

  • Chakra – It never hurts to have a bit of self-healing, and since Chakra costs no MP and only one ATB bar, it’s perfect for Tifa.
  • Enemy Skill – By equipping this materia, Tifa will only increase her diverse arsenal, able to imbue her punches with lightning or heal the party when needed.
  • Steal – Since Tifa is quite literally hands-on with her enemies, why not take the opportunity to snatch something out of their pockets?
  • Steadfast Block – Tifa will be up close and personal with her foes, so blocking is necessary with her. Use this materia to increase her blocking defense while building up extra ATB.
  • ATB Stagger – As stated, Tifa is the queen of staggering. Use ATB Stagger for a boost of bonus ATB once she’s staggered her foes.
  • Weapon Skill – ATB Charge Rate Up

Best Early Folios for Tifa

  • Combo Damage Up – Since you’ll be rapidly attacking with Tifa, strengthen her basic attacks with this Folio.
  • Enhanced Techniques – When Tifa has spare ATB, which is quite often, use this Folio to increase the damage of her unique abilities.
  • Fiery Impulse – A fire attack that uses no MP.
  • Icy Impulse – An ice attack that uses no MP.

Tifa can be played as a balanced fighter, but her power shouldn’t be underestimated with Unbridled Strength active. When it’s time to stagger an enemy and prepare them for a massive beating, Tifa is your girl.
