All Master Security Override Door Locations: Dead Space Remake

Eight locations, eight great bits of loot.

by Shawn Robinson

Finding resources across the Ishimura is fun on its own in Dead Space Remake, but there’s something more to finding resources through secrets or other methods. One such method of getting secret resources is through Master Override doors, which you can access after completing the You Are Not Authorised side mission. Assuming you’ve completed the mission, you might be wondering what you can snag after finding all those RIGs (god, was that a pain). Here are all Master Override doors and crates in Dead Space Remake.

Every Master Override Door in Dead Space Remake

Across the entire game, there are only five locations that require Master Security Override to unlock. These are all in different sections, with four being accessible before the end of Chapter 11: Alternate Solutions. If you aren’t there yet, be sure to avoid the final location in this guide until you’ve begun Chapter 12: Dead Space. With that out of the way, here’s every door and crate location!

Engineering

Make your way through the Preparation Room down to the fourth floor. Once there, head toward the Calibration Room. Next to its door will be a Bench, and next to that will be the Master Override crate holding a Ripper upgrade.

Bridge

Make your way to the Main Atrium of the Bridge and up the elevator to Water Purification (on the opposite side of the central pillar). You’ll quickly find the Water Purification Storage room, which houses a Pulse Rifle upgrade.

Hydroponics

The first Master Override Crate is located in the Hydroponics sector. Heading through the Mining Tram Station door in the central hub, you’ll immediately find the crate in front of you with a Line Gun upgrade inside.

Mining

Shortly after entering the Mining Operations room from the Mining Tram station, you’ll come across some moveable kinesis boxes on tracks. In between these is the door to Tool Storage, which holds a Contact Beam upgrade.

Crew Quarters Master Override Crate #1

Make you way to the Executive Quarters until you find Lt. Commander V. Holt’s quarters. Use the Executive Quarters keycard from the nearby bathroom to open the door. Inside will be the Master Override container, with a handy Golden Semiconductor in the crate.

Cargo Bay

During Chapter 11, you’ll enter the Cargo Bay for the related story quest. In the room is a Wall Guardian who you’ll have to kill. Once killed, the Master Override crate is next to it with a Force Gun upgrade inside.

Aegis VII

The final Master Override crate is easy to find, located along the track when delivering the Marker to its pedestal. Inside the crate will be three handy nodes, in case there are a few upgrades you’ve been wanting to get on your weapons.

There you have it! Every Master Override crate location in Dead Space Remake. While naturally, not everything here will have a direct use for you, having all of this will prove a big help in the fights ahead. There’s generally a ton of loot around each of these, so be sure to search any rooms with Master Override doors beyond the big crate. Good luck finishing the rest of the game!
