Whenever a new area drops in Genshin Impact, you’ll find new treasures, more of the current region’s Oculi and, of course, the unique Shrines of Depths. They give the players some extra rewards after their lengthy exploration, and here’s where you can find the ones introduced in the 4.2 version.
Where to Find Fontaine’s Shrines of Depths in Genshin Impact 4.2
Two new Shrines were added in the new areas introduced in the Genshin Impact 4.2 update. They’re easy to miss but don’t require doing any extra task to find them aside from walking up to them, and they’re both quite next to each other, too. They all need 1 Fontaine Shrine of Depths Key to open.
Shrine of Depths in Loch Urania
You can find a Shrine on a cliff next to the lake in Loch Urania. There are a few puzzles to complete on the way, so have fun with those if you want some extra gems. You’ll notice a strong wind current coming from the Lake if you haven’t completed the Wild Fairy of Erinnyes World Quest line yet, but you can still reach the Shrine without much trouble.
Shrine of Depths in Weeping Willow of the Lake
The other Shrine of Depths is also found next to a lake but without any climatic disturbances to annoy you this time around. Climb up the cliff, and you should see it next to some jellyfish. Many teleports are nearby, so it should be easy to return for this one once you grab another key.
Where to Get Fontaine Shrine of Depths Keys
You can get more keys by offering Hydroculus for the Fontaine Statue of the Seven or by reaching certain levels in the Fountain of Lucine, upgraded by offering Hydro Sigils. You get a key for Statue of the Seven Levels 1, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10. The Fountain of Lucine grants you a key on Levels 8, 18, 28 and 38.
Leveling the statue or the fountain requires exploring Fontaine through and through, so think of the Shrines as a final reward for good exploration. Their chests contain some nice items and x40 Primogems each, so they’re more than worth your time. Keep your eyes open for specialties such as the Lakelight Lilies while you’re at it, since you never know when you’ll need some of these.
