The wait is almost over! Witcher fans rejoice because we finally know when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen remaster will be arriving, and it just might be sooner than you think. While the acclaimed 2015 RPG from CD Projekt Red for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch had been long rumored to be releasing a remaster in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2022, previous delays and radio silence from CD Projekt Red began to call that information into question.

However, thanks to the latest announcement directly from the developers, we can officially mark the date in our Bestiaries for when gamers can finally make their return to the Northern Realms on the latest gaming systems. When is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Upgrade Releasing?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s latest update will be coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on December 14, 2022, just a month away as of this writing. According to the game’s official Twitter account, “The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming on December 14th, free for everyone who already owns the game.”

CD Projekt Red also unveiled an upcoming presentation of gameplay, as the tweet continued, “For more details and gameplay reveal, tune in to REDstreams next week on [CD Projekt Red’s Twitch Channel].”

While there are a plethora of Witcher games and remakes in development, including some mysteriously codenamed titles such as “Project Sirius” and “Project Polaris,” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remains the only upcoming title for CD Projekt Red and the Witcher series in the last two months of 2022.
