Valve is saying goodbye to their Steam controller, which means if you want one now is the time to buy because they are dirt cheap. With the Steam Autumn Sale now life, gamers are getting highly anticipated titles for an affordable price, but with Valve’s latest decision concerning one of their peripherals, might as well scoop one of those up as well since the Steam Controller is now only 5 bucks.

Since support for this gaming item is ending, that means once the wares are out the Steam Controller is donezo. No more stock, no more options to buy. Not that it’s particularly needed since Valve added PS4 controller support in addition to the Xbox One’s support as well, but it was a cool option for gamers that wanted something a little different, or for those truly ‘hardcore’ PC Master Race peeps that wanted nothing to do with their console brethren.

If you want to scoop one up for yourself, you can find the Steam Controller right here through Steam for the lowest price it’s ever been. According to Valve about their controller, “Experience a new level of precise control for your favorite games. The Steam Controller lets you play your entire collection of Steam games on your TV—even the ones designed without controller support in mind. The Steam Controller features dual trackpads, HD haptic feedback, dual-stage triggers, back grip buttons, and fully-customizable control schemes. Find your favorite mappings in the Steam Community, or create and share your own.”

I received one at launch and while I still prefer mouse and keyboard, it’s not too shabby when looking to play a racing game or a title like Grand Theft Auto that relies heavily on a driving component. It’s got a unique design and fits well in my baby hands. The problem isn’t the controller itself – just that there is no real need for it. But, for 5 bucks you can’t go wrong so have fun and go wild!
