Now that Saints Row: The Third Remastered is announced (with a very awesome trailer to boot), 2020 is shaping up nicer than Saints fans were initially anticipating. Deep Silver announced previously that they would have a new game to reveal in 2020, though nothing outside of remasters have been talked about. For those curious as to where Saints Row 5 is, don’t worry – it’s still on the way.
The confirmation came by way of Twitter when one fan took to the Remaster announcement with a complaint about not wanting an old experience, instead wanting an entirely new one. The official Saints Row account responded saying: “A new Saints Row game is in development from [Volition]. The Saints Row: The Third Remaster is being done by Sperasoft.”

The third-party recruitment for the remaster is nothing new, most studios opt into this option when it comes to handling remasters and remakes so that the core teams may continue working on brand new adventures. That being said, it is nice to see confirmation that Saints Row 5 is still very much a thing despite all of the COVID disruptions to daily life, though we’re hoping that an official reveal will be happening in the near future! We need more Saints!
Regardless of what the next Saints Row has to offer following the insanity that Saints Row 4 had to offer, one thing can be sure: It’s going to be weird, it’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be awesome.
No release date information about Saints Row 5 is available at this time, though you can check out our previous coverage of the newly confirmed Saints Row: The Third Remaster to check out the incredible reveal trailer that made its debut today.
