EA Play Pro has been a fairly useful subscription service exclusively available to PC players, allowing them to enjoy EA-published titles on day one. This includes major recent releases like Dragon Age: The Veilguard, FC25, and plenty more from the EA Sports lineup.
PC subscribers assumed that Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios would also be part of the day-one lineup for EA Play Pro as it’s published by Electronic Arts, but this seems to be a rare exception.
Split Fiction Skips EA Play Pro
Since there was no information about Split Fiction on EA Play Pro ahead of its release, a user on the EA forums raised the question of its availability on the service. An EA community manager responded in the thread, confirming that Split Fiction will not be available on the service at launch.

The confirmation led to some obvious pushback from users subscribed to EA Play Pro, who were expecting to play the EA-published title at launch. Multiple users in the thread have expressed their frustration with the unclear messaging about the subscription benefits, and are claiming they will cancel their subscriptions because of this exclusion.
This is the first major title published by EA that isn’t featured in the service at launch, and the wording on their websites now states that “select” games will be added to the service. However, if you head over to the EA Play Info Hub (which was published 13 days ago, as of writing), it clearly states that EA Play subscribers get unlimited access to “latest EA titles as soon as they are released, including premium editions and deluxe content“. Here is a screenshot of that FAQ below:

The developers at Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts have not commented on this yet, and we will update this if they do. For now, EA Play Pro subscribers will have to purchase Split Fiction on the EA App, or Steam to gain access to the game.
It’s possible that the game isn’t on this service because of the friend’s pass system, which grants access to another user for free once invited by the player who purchased the title, so they can play together. Either way, Split Fiction launches soon, so make sure you have it pre-loaded ahead of its release in your region.
