Grand Theft Auto V could be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring next year, leaked promo artwork suggests.

While the artwork, uploaded to GTA-Five.pl, could be fake, various hints have pointed toward a spring release date next year. Both L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 were released in May and a release around that time would keep the initial profits on the right side of the financial calendar for Rockstar.

GTA V Leaked Promotional Material

Fans over at GTA Forums are currently in a debate about the legitimacy of the images where one user, PSRepublika, has started a thread on the possibility of the art being intended for use as a promotional cube.

Of the three different sides (if this is a cube, which seems likely), only one features art we haven’t seen before. One side shows the recently unveiled Pest Control artwork while another consists of an image of a man with a pretty mean looking dog on a chain. It’s looking increasingly that dogs are going to play a significant role in the upcoming open worlder; at least one (possibly two) showed up in last year’s trailer.

The poster’s third individual side clearly states “pre-order now” and “spring 2013”. While there are Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos on the box, there’s no mention of PC. Much to the dismay of a large number of PC gamers, Grand Theft Auto IV arrived on the platform 8 months after its console release. There’s now much speculation about whether the same will happen with the fifth full title due to this omission and given Rockstar’s history.

Things will become much clearer once Game Informer’s cover feature on GTA V is released. Speaking of which, the magazine’s website recently revealed news it’ll be showing off its GTA V-focused cover art come the morning of November 8 while the afternoon will see the digital release of the issue. The feature on the game will be 18 print pages long and apparently packed with details and screenshots. Print versions will be in the shops by November 16.
