Where Will GTA 6 Take Place - Answered

Where Will GTA 6 Take Place? – Answered

Are the new leaks legit?

Grand Theft Auto V came out in 2013, meaning it’ll be its 10-year anniversary next year! During that decade, we’ve seen this insanely popular title leave its mark on three different generations of consoles, as well as the incredible and lasting popularity of GTA Online, the multiplayer mode that spawned from GTA V. For years, fans have been fantasizing about the next game in the series, holding onto many unconfirmed leaks and rumors, but earlier this year, Rockstar finally confirmed that the “development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” sending the internet into a frenzy.

Since then, we’ve seen a few smaller rumors but an article from Bloomberg brings alleged insider information from a source close to Rockstar that reveals a lot of interesting details about Grand Theft Auto 6, including where GTA 6 will supposedly take place.

Where Will GTA 6 Be Located?

According to the Bloomberg leaks from 2022, the launch version of GTA 6 will start in a Miami-inspired city, possibly Vice City in a different time period. Returning to one of the most popular locations in GTA history would be cool, but this information prompts another question – will new cities be added later? According to the leaks, yes, new cities and missions are planned to be added regularly. Could this mean a possible episodic format, or at least regular big DLC expansions?

The leaks also reveal the alleged codename for GTA 6 in development – “Project Americas” – due to the original plan to have vast territories in the game based on North and South America. Those plans were allegedly scrapped, so for the launch edition of GTA 6, we will get a Vice City-like starting location with new cities and regions possibly being added later.

When Will GTA 6 Be Released?

The same sources claim that Rockstar is not sure that GTA 6 will be released before March 2024, although earlier predictions assumed a year earlier date of April 2023. Due to turbulent changes within the company, development slowed down so judging by the latest leaks, release day is not expected to be within the next two years, with no locked internal release date set by the company. In other words, Rockstar is taking it easy, doing its best to avoid crunch, and, in the end, deliver a game worthy of the GTA name.

Bloomberg’s leaks also mention a new Latin female character in the campaign that will follow her and her partner in a tribute of sorts to the popular criminal duo Bonnie and Clyde. Also, there is talk that the new GTA will be less controversial than the previous games.

Did GTA 6 Map Leak (2023)?

On March 16, on Reddit, a user tusstaster posted a picture comparing the GTA 5 game map with an alleged map from GTA 6. The same Redditor stated the following “There are countless Cities/Towns such as York Town, Red Hill, etc found in the files. Most of these locations point towards north of Port Gelhorn, making the map expand even further north.” Check out the map below and tell us what you think.
