Retro City Rampage is looking more and more like a must-have game every time we see it, and this past week at E3 didn’t help when it came to waiting on the game’s release.  That’s because we saw three new stages from the game that didn’t quite feature the main hero, but instead turned to three independent characters from other games.

In the Bit.Trip Runner stages, you’ll control Commander Video as he runs through stages in the Retro City world, in a fun little mini-game set.

Meat Boy, who first appeared in the ultra-popular Super Meat Boy, will have his own share of action in some separate stages within the game, some even in 3D!

Finally, Splosion Man, Twisted Pixel’s explosive hero, will appear in an 8-bit version of his classic game, complete with scientists turning into steaks.

These cameos should help solidify Retro City Rampage’s fun factor, as if it wasn’t already solidified enough.

The game will arrive on Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita later this summer.
