PlayStation’s New Accessibility Controller Opens Pre-Orders Soon

PlayStation’s Access controller retails for $89.99 and will feature a plethora of options for players to use the controller how they need it.

An excerpt from The PlayStation Blog’s official post goes into a bit more detail on how the controller functions.

“Access controller lets you customize your layout with different button and stick caps in various shapes and designs, operate the controller from any 360° orientation, and connect third-party accessibility accessories using its four industry-standard 3.5mm expansion ports.”

The Access controller also features up to 30 unique controller profiles. You can adjust stick settings, adjust toggle buttons, and much more.

The biggest win here is the ability to plug in third-party accessories that many folks in the accessibility community use to fit their many different needs. These third-party controllers are often made for very specific use cases and the option to now pair those with a more centralized unit is a game changer for many.

That’s not all though. You’ll also be able to pair up to two Access controllers and one Dualsense together to further enhance the options given to players.

While accessibility still has a long way to go, this is a step in the right direction and is bringing more player choice than ever before.

Starting on July 21, 2023 you will be able to pre-order the Access controller from PlayStation Direct.
