At this point, we’re just waiting for the official reveal because everyone and their mothers have leaked the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remastered edition. From retail leaks to rating boards, the latest leak actually comes from PlayStation itself with a release date set for this week and a brand new trailer. This leak also seems to confirm that the launch will just be for the campaign starting out.

As for PlayStation, it was the PlayStation Germany Store page that leaked the campaign remastered goodness and that includes a March 31st release date. Since it was careful to say Campaign Remastered, we know that the initial launch will just be based on story, though it is possible the spec ops and multiplayer components could be added on later. While it’s exciting to see another take on Modern Warfare, especially with all of the rave reviews for its predecessor, it is a little disappointing to see that the multiplayer was left in the dust at launch.
As with all leaks that we report, take everything seen above with a grain of salt. No matter how much evidence something has or how many leaks support it, always wait until there is official confirmation from the studio itself before taking something like this at face value. Hopefully, that confirmation will be soon. That being said, our own sources (and common sense) points to an official reveal later today.
Are you excited for a potential Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered experience, or would you rather the team focus on something new entirely?
