Despite the fact that its Wii U console is hitting store shelves next month, Nintendo is still providing a good promotional push for its original Wii console.

The company has just announced that it will be releasing a new Wii bundle at the end of this month, October 30th, for a lowered price of $129.99.  The original New Super Mario Bros. Wii bundle is being phased out in favor of something sports oriented, as the new pack will include a black Wii console, a Wii remote, a Nunchuk, and two games – Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.  Not a bad deal if you don’t own the console just yet.

“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”

If you can’t find a Wii U, at least you can get your kids something for Christmas!
