It wouldn’t be the holidays if there wasn’t some Grinch-like behavior to spoil the fun, sadly.
ABC News is reporting that approximately $2 million worth of Wii game consoles were stolen overnight from one of Nintendo’s distribution sites in Seattle. It wasn’t made clear of the report meant to indicate the original Wii or the new Wii U, but we’re guessing the newer model was the one the thieves were looking for.
“I’ve been a cop for 28 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this. This has come straight out of the movies,” says Sgt. Cindy West in ABC’s article.
The thieves merely drove into the warehouse on Saturday night, loaded up the systems with the help of a forklift, and then took off, with no one detecting the heist until Sunday. Too bad no hidden cameras were able to call them out during the theft.
Let’s hope these guys are caught quick. No one likes a crook taking someone else’s Christmas. Just ask that kid from Home Alone.
