There’s more to Grand Theft Auto Online than competing against friends in a number of wild competitions, both vehicle and ground based. It’s also a place where you can establish an apartment where you’ll get rest, because let’s face it, sometimes you need to chill. It helps build energy and also gives you the chance to breathe easy, catch up on the news and invite friends over to take a break.
Finding an apartment can be easy, depending where you’re looking. There are three types of apartments you can find, ranging from low-tier to mid-level to high-cost. With your recent windfall of cash awarded by Rockstar Games (the $500,000 bonus for online troubles), it shouldn’t be a problem getting a place. It just depends on what you’re looking for, what kind of view you want, and really, how long you’re going to spend at your place, making the most use of it.
Let’s look at the three levels of apartments available in the game.
Low Tier Budget Apartments
Unlike some real places in the Los Angeles area, the low tier apartments are not of the tin can variety. You have room to move around, clean up and make a serviceable living in these places. It may not be as comfy as some of the bigger apartments available, but if you’re looking to save cash in favor of using it for weapons and clothes, it’s the best way to go.
Looking around the Little Seoul or Rockford Hills area for these apartments is a good place to start. You’ll find apartments ranging from $80,000 to $110,000 and up, and while that sounds like a lot of cash, you do get a manageable living space. These apartments usually come with a moderately sized TV – not something of the 4K variety, but acceptable – and a two-car garage where you can stow a pair of your favorite vehicles. It’s the best way to go if you prefer to spend your money on the run, rather than trying to relax in a room.
One word of warning, though – most of these apartments don’t come with an ideal view. If that’s what you prefer, you’ll need to spend a little more.
Mid-Tier Apartments, The Next Step Up
If you’re the kind of person who could use some good rest and relaxation, and you’re not content with a small living space, the mid-tier should suit you just fine. These apartments are a bit higher in price, ranging from $115,000 to $150,000 and higher, but you’ll get a much bigger area for you and your friends, not to mention a higher-quality flat-screen television and a much better view than you’d get from a cheaper apartment.
For these, sticking around the Vinewood area is probably your best bet. There are a lot of good apartments here, particularly in the West Vinewood area, though someone near the sign might be preferred. There are some high-end apartments as well, but if you prefer comfortable living without bleeding your resources dry, this is the way to go.
The mid-tier apartments also come with a six-car garage, with more space to run around and take a look at your offerings. It’s not quite the dream space for car nuts, but it certainly beats trying to work your way around a two-car garage.
Top-Tier Apartments, The Way To Live
Finally, if you really want to live the dream of Los Santos, or just want the best space possible for you and your friends to hang out, then the top-tier apartments are waiting for you. As you might expect, these places are the most expensive, ranging from $200,000 to $400,000 and possibly higher, but you get your money’s worth with wonderful panoramic views of the city and plenty of space to put your dream furniture. The TV is second to none, with a huge screen to watch all the action, and your garage will hold up to 10 cars – it doesn’t get much better than that unless you own a parking garage.
Rockford Hills is a great place to look for a top-tier apartment, though there are also a few in the downtown Los Santos area that will catch your eye. A couple in Tinsel Tower in Little Seoul might be worth a look as well if the downtown life is more your speed. Shop around, and you’ll find that perfect spot that suits you.
Really, it all comes down to what kind of living space you desire. If you’re looking to chill and be social, the higher-end apartments are for you. Otherwise, you can run with the basics and do just fine.
