FF7 Rebirth Release Date Revealed, Promises Nearly 100 Hours of New Adventures

The game will also have a Collector's Edition featuring Sephiroth

The release date for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake sequel has been revealed. In today’s State of Play, Square Enix has revealed a new trailer for the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in which the release date of February 29, 2024 was revealed. Additionally, there will be a special Collector’s Edition of the game featuring Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is stated to provide nearly 100 hours of adventures for Cloud and the party. The game will cover the events after the Midgar chapter and continue on to the middle point of the adventure. In the trailer, we can see the party go to places such as the Gold Saucer and Costa del Sol as they continue their adventure and seek answers in regard to Sephiroth’s plans.

The game is stated to feature greatly enhanced features such as a vast world map to explore and synergy abilities between party members. In a letter to the audience by producer Yoshinori Kitase, the executive promises that this game will be an enjoyable experience, especially with how much fans are “dying to see one scene in particular.”

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will also have a special Collector’s Edition set which includes the game’s official soundtrack, an official artbook, and a statuette of Sephiroth surrounded by flames. The Collector’s Edition of the game will also feature additional digital content that can be redeemed such as Summons, a special necklace, and a special bracelet item.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The game will come in two discs. New Final Fantasy Remake players can purchase a Digital Twin Pack which includes Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth and immediately gain access to Remake with some added extras. The game will be available in other formats sometime after May 29, 2024.
