Etrian Odyssey Origins DLC Features Persona, SMT and Soul Hackers Character Portraits

We get it, Joker is popular

I was already stoked when Etrian Odyssey appeared during the latest Nintendo Direct. I mean, I kinda knew ahead of time it was coming, but I was stoked all the same. But Sega and ATLUS managed to get even more of my attention somehow when a press release came through announcing crossover DLC. Yes, alongside an already impressive set of new character portraits, Etrian Odyssey Origins will also host DLC adding Megami Tensei universe character portraits to the game(s).

Etrian Odyssey Origins DLC Features Persona, SMT and Soul Hackers Character Portraits

There are three different DLC packs, each one adding two new character portraits to a game in the collection. If you preorder The Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection bundle, you get all three DLC packs for free. However, all three packs will also be on sale when the games launch for $2.99 each. Each pack is also restricted to a respective game in the trilogy. Here are those details:

  • Etrian Odyssey HD: Joker from Persona 5 and Ringo from Soul Hackers 2
  • Etrian Odyssey II HD: Demi-Fiend from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne and Teddie from Persona 4 Golden
  • Etrian Odyssey III HD: Aigis from Persona 3 and Nahobino from Shin Megami Tensei V

It seems like preordering the individual games will also net you the respective DLC pack as a bonus, but with all this word soup it’s hard to tell for certain. Here’s the specific text from the press release to cover all our bases here:

“Each DLC set will be free with pre-order purchase for each game or $2.99 each after game launch.”
