Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.4 Fixes 30 FPS Cutscenes on PC
That was fast.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is one of the better PC and console releases of 2026, thanks to Ubisoft’s in-house Anvil Engine. Not everything is perfect, though, and some bugs and technical issues keep it from being a flawless release.
Thankfully, Ubisoft is already addressing these concerns, and the new Update 1.0.4 fixes the major 30 FPS cutscene lock-in issue on PC, along with a bunch more.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.4 Patch Notes Highlights
According to Ubisoft, Title Update 1.0.4 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to launch on July 16 at 14:00 UTC / 10:00 AM EST / 7:00 AM PST. The update will address bugs across gameplay, the UI, world exploration, and technical performance, with several notable improvements for the PC version.
Once released, it will fix an issue, specifically in the PC version, in which cutscenes were locked to 30 FPS when using custom graphics settings rather than one of the graphical presets available in the game. Personally, I didn’t mess around with the settings, since the default preset ran really well for me, so I wasn’t aware of this bug until recently. Ubisoft also says the patch will improve overall performance and stability across both PC and consoles.

Other notable changes include fixes for save/load issues that could hinder progression, lighting improvements in indoor environments, a bug that allowed players to unintentionally double-jump, an issue where the Jackdaw could disappear after being upgraded, and several quest progression problems. The update will also increase the frequency of clear and sunny weather while restoring foggy conditions.
There’s also a rather amusing audio bug being addressed in this update where killing an enemy causes a single body drop to sound like multiple bodies hitting the ground. Honestly, they could have left that one in. Not all bugs are evil, Ubisoft!
Patch 1.0.4 Size on PC and Consoles
| Platform | Patch Size |
|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | 15.35 GB |
| PS5 | 2.44 GB |
| Ubisoft Connect PC | 3.71 GB |
| Steam | 2.7 GB |
The patch is fairly huge on the Xbox Series S|X version, but that isn’t new to this title. You can read the complete patch notes here. PS5 and Steam users only have to download around 2.5 GB.
Despite minor issues, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a largely fantastic release and runs well on a variety of hardware, including handhelds like the Steam Deck. For upcoming patches, I hope Ubisoft addresses the incorrect resolution scaling issues in the PC version when using the performance or balanced preset with DLSS. There is a workaround for that bug, but it isn’t ideal, and I hope the team is aware of it. It doesn’t seem like a big problem and should be an easy fix.
