The latest milestone comes after the remake sold 2 million copies on its first day, showing that momentum has remained strong throughout its launch week. The game has also seen a steady improvement in player reception, with its Steam user reviews currently sitting at a very positive rating.

According to Ubisoft, the positive sentiment has been driven by the team’s continued post-launch support. Since release, the developers have rolled out several quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes, while also confirming that the highly requested New Game+ mode is on the way. Once available, the feature will give players another reason to revisit Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure.

Originally released in 2013, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remains one of the most beloved entries in the long-running series. Black Flag Resynced rebuilds the classic adventure from the ground up using Ubisoft’s latest Anvil engine, delivering modern visuals while expanding on several of the original game’s mechanics.

The game is set during the Golden Age of Piracy; Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced once again puts players in the boots of Edward Kenway, a pirate captain whose pursuit of fortune pulls him into the centuries-long conflict between the Assassins and Templars. Along the way, players encounter iconic historical pirates, including Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Calico Jack, as they fight to preserve the pirate republic in the Caribbean.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, while Ubisoft+ subscribers can also access the game at no additional cost. The remake is also Steam Deck Verified, allowing players to take the pirate adventure on the go.

It’s amazing to see how Ubisoft is quickly gaining momentum over the last few months, with great titles like Anno 117: Pax Romana, Morbid Metal, and now, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which we have all reviewed as well.
