Anthem Is Still 100% Supported Following Recent BioWare Shifts, Assures Devs

A few members have switched over to work on Dragon Age 4, and some saw that as a bad sign.

Yesterday we reported that a few of the higher level devs attached to Anthem have shifted over to work on Dragon Age 4. Now that Anthem is launched a large part of the next story arc completed, this sort of shift is not unexpected. Even still, it didn’t stop fans from worrying that this meant BioWare was jumping ship and abandoning Anthem all together – a familiar wound from Mass Effect Andromeda.

Though we were careful in our previous coverage to mention that this move was not necessarily a bad omen and is pretty expected in terms of development stages, many other outlets immediately went for the doom. This caused panic among the BioWare community, thus prompting the developers to reach out to calm concerns.

Transparency is key, especially in an age where misinformation is accessible by a click of a button, so the developers taking to social media to address concerns is very important for their player base. Since a big issue previously in Anthem’s shelf life were features not being ready in time and promising too much too soon, the team wanted to reevaluate their approach and keep it more realistic.

BioWare’s Head of Live Services, Chad Robertson, took to Twitter to assure fans that they were still very much 100% committed to the game, adding:

Michael Gamble, one of the lead devs that transferred to work on Dragon Age 4, even weighed in about the misinformation spreading bred out of speculation. He added, “There’s been a lot of (incorrect) speculation on this. The studio’s support and commitment to anthem HAS. NOT. CHANGED.”
