Is Aniimo a Gacha Game?

Aniimo is rapidly approaching its big launch, but there is still some confusion around the game, specifically the mechanics and whether the title is a Gacha game.

Is Aniimo a Gacha Game?

No, Aniimo is not a Gacha game at it’s core, so you won’t find any of the creatures locked behind randomized summons, paid pulls, or limited-time banners.

However, there was previously some Gacha content in the game, in the RNG mechanic for acquiring legendary creatures, like Irisalis, but this was removed ahead of launch based on feedback from beta tests.

Now, Irisalis is fully encounterable through world exploration and story progress, and you won’t have to sink time or money into a Gacha-like mechanic to obtain some of the rarest Aniimo in the title.

There is still some optional RNG in the title, however, with some randomized chances in microtransactions, though these are entirely optional.

What Type of Game is Aniimo?

Aniimo is an open-world, creature-capture title with a free-to-play model, where players explore the continent of Idyll to capture, evolve, and collect Aniimo.

A core mechanic isd the ‘Twine’ ability with any Aniimo that has been collected, transforming players into a selected creature to gain special movement or combat abilities, including flying and gliding.

Combat is real-time, while the game also has puzzle-solving using creature skills, and the open-world is fully traversable.

Additionally, multiplayer is a core compnent of the game, with players able to visit social hubs to meet, trade, and engage in PvP and co-op battles, and there’s also a home system where players can farm and decorate using their Aniimo.
