Brace yourself.

All the money’s gone.

Yes, your bank account may be considerably lighter today, as Rockstar dipped its hands into players’ bank accounts and removed money obtained through cheating means. It’s just one step in the publisher’s crackdown on cheaters who exploited GTA 5‘s online component. In fact, Rockstar goes as far as calling the dough counterfeit.

Anyone who innocently received GTA$ as a result of these exploits but did not engage in cheating to acquire it will not face any further action – the funds will just be removed, and you’ll be able to keep any items you currently own.

Not too bad. As for the cheaters, they’re done. Rockstar will determine their fate, with options that may include a ban from GTA Online or being dumped into an isolated cheater pool, whatever that means.

As the saying goes, crime doesn’t pay.

At least these GTA 5 single player cheats are still nice and legal.
