How Should EA Honour Messi & Argentina for Their World Cup Victory? – Answered

It’s Post-world Cup and EA Should Be Handing Out Argentina Special Pack Items!

by Ashley Anthony

It’s post-World Cup, and we are already back to club action before the buzz around football can die out. However, despite us getting straight back into it, the Argentina team are still basking in their World Cup glory and, rightfully, should be.

Before the final kickoff of the first WC in the Middle East, EA released the FUT23 World Cup 2022 Team of the Tournament (TOTT). As always, the selection consisted of players many agreed should be in the team, while some of them raised a few eyebrows. It’s standard behaviour if you ask me.

Of the selected World Cup players, the GOAT Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé had the highest overall rankings at 94. You can read more about it here: Who is EA’s World Cup 2022 Team of The Tournament? – Answered

So with the TOTT released before the final, where Argentina beat title defenders France and won gold for the first time in 36 years, should EA honour the team hailing from South America and Messi with special World Cup items? Hell, yes, they should be!

How Should EA honour Argentina?

Every player on the team should get upgrades and possess chemistry to fit in any FUT23 squad. Those who were crucial to their progress throughout the competition should be commemorated with even more emphatic upgrades. They could even call the items “FUT23’s Living Legends” promo.

With Messi, players who should get untouchable status until the end of the season:

  • The Young Player of the Tournament: Enzo Fernandez
  • The Golden Glove winner: Emiliano Martínez
  • Golden Boot winner: Kylian Mbappé

How Should EA honour Messi?

For Messi, whether the debate is still on or has been put to bed, he should be rewarded with a promo item fitting for a king. They should call his promo item “The One and Only GOAT”! Why? Not only did he bring home the gold, but Messi was his country’s standout player, taking home four Man of the Match awards, the most for a player at the Qatar World Cup.

Coupled with this, he was his country’s top goalscorer with seven goals scored, one behind the Golden Boot winner, Mbappe. He almost did all by himself. However, one-man shows do not win World Cups. It was indeed a great team effort.

So EA, do the right thing and honour the best footballing country in the world with some unique items. Also, it will be a fitting Christmas gift for all FIFA FUT23 players. France should likewise be rewarded for their efforts. They staged one of the best comebacks ever witnessed in a World Cup Final but fell just short of making their own history, making the encounter that extra bit special.
