How to Get the New Crown Faction in Call of Duty DMZ

Earn your crown in the DMZ.

With Season 2 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon, more details are starting to pour out about each mode. DMZ has been successful so far and Infinity Ward has no plans of halting content, so this month we can expect a brand new Crown Faction.

Three factions already exist in the DMZ mode that is tied to Warzone 2, and this is the mission system that has kept players coming back to earn new rewards. In Season 2, there will be a fourth section of missions tied to the Crown Faction, but you’ll need to unlock it, and we’re here to help.

Call of Duty: DMZ – How to Get the New Crown Faction

Two main pieces of content will be available in the DMZ starting on February 15. The first is the new Ashika Island map that will be used across many different Warzone 2 modes as part of the free update. The second is the Crown Faction which is only found in the DMZ modes and it’s also behind a paywall.

We have yet to see how the reception will be for this change in the cost to a free-to-play game, but players will need to pay for the Crown Faction. More specifically, players are required to purchase Modern Warfare 2 in order to access the new content. For those who already own the main COD game, you’re in the clear. If you don’t, the best bet is to wait for a sale if one happens soon.

Of course, there is a whole plethora of content that will arrive in Modern Warfare 2 for Season 2 as well, so it’s not a bad idea to pick the game up anyway. It will be easier to unlock new weapons and all the attachments that come with them. However, you can still play DMZ without the Crown Faction and it’s really up to you if the missions are worth it.
