The Callisto Protocol has released on December 2, 2022, adding another survival horror game to an already blood-drenched year. But as players delve into the deepest recesses and secret alcoves of Black Iron Prison, one thing becomes abundantly clear – Jacob desperately needs to start carrying a backpack. Here’s how to increase your inventory space in The Callisto Protocol.
How to Increase Your Inventory Space in The Callisto Protocol
While you won’t need to juggle your inventory aggressively in the first few chapters, that will change as the biophages pilot Jacob Lee faces begin to grow stronger and more aggressive. The more coveted ammo for Jacob’s Hand Cannon and Health Injectors you can find and carry, the better. To say nothing off the small hoard of credits Energy Convertors offer, as they’re one of the best ways to upgrade your weapons early on.

But at the start of the game, Jacob will only have the ability to carry six items simultaneously. This leaves the player to manage what they believe is top priority. Fortunately, you won’t have to micro-manage the entire game.
Spoilers Ahead.
There are a total of eight chapters in The Callisto Protocol, but you’ll have to endure and complete four chapters before you’re able to upgrade your inventory. In chapter 5, “Lost”, Jacob Lee will receive a Survival Suit from his closest ally, Elias Porter. The Survival Suit is necessary to endure the freezing temperatures Jacob will face. But, more important than that, it will also increase Jacob’s health and increase his inventory from six slots to twelve.
A massive upgrade, but also an indicator of things to come. This will be the only upgrade to inventory Jacob will receive for the rest of the game, so it’s better to still be aggressive in selling those energy convertors when you find them.
