Dark Wood Location in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Dark Wood is a resource native to the Forgotten Lands. The Forgotten Lands are likely one of, if not the last, area you’ll unlock in the game. Not only do you require access to Sunlit Plateau to reach its ramps, but removing the Forgotten Land Night Thorns costs 15,000 Dreamlight.

Upon entering the Forgotten Lands, you’ll immediately find dark, gloomy trees. When you run around these trees, you’ll find one of four wood types on the ground:

  • Softwood
  • Hardwood
  • Dry Wood
  • Dark Wood

Since the Forgotten Lands is a dark area, mainly lit up by green fire scattered around, it is easy to spot Dark Wood once you know what to look for. Unlike the other tree wood types, Dark Wood is, well, dark. It has a desaturated grey-black color to it that matches the nearby trees.

Resources like Softwood and Hardwood, on the other hand, are both brown, creating a stark contrast between their bright colors and this region’s dark, gloomy nature. The image above highlights this difference further.

Wood Types and Locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Since you can find all four wood types in the Forgotten Lands, it’s important to differentiate between them. Below is a list of all four and their exact spawn locations:

  • Softwood: A light brown wood that you can also find in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, and other early-game regions.
  • Hardwood: A red-brown wood you can also spot in mid-game areas such as the Glade of Trust, Forest of Valor, and Sunlit Plateau.
  • Dry Wood: A grey-white wood you’ll find in Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and the Forgotten Lands.
  • Dark Wood: A black wood found exclusively in the Forgotten Lands.
