In order to create more villagers in Minecraft, you need to meet certain requirements so they will “breed.” If that sounds creepy, that’s because it definitely is! Anyway, villagers do provide some utility in the game, and you may find yourself wishing you had a few more. So here’s how to breed villagers in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
First you need a village. Obviously! This needs to have three times the number of doors as there are inhabitants. I dunno, don’t ask why. Next, you have to trade with the villagers at least one time. At this point, the villagers will like you enough to add a new pair of hands to your labor force on demand.

Basically, the goal is to outfit your pair of voxelly eugenics guinea pigs with enough space, lodging, and resources to support new offspring. So your two starting villagers need beds and a well-lit space, for starters. Then you need to provide one extra bed per additional villager. Once you have the furniture in place, the two parents will need a specific amount of food. Here are your options:
- 6 loaves of bread
- 24 carrots
- 24 beet roots
- 24 potatos
These numbers need to be per extra villager of course. And whichever food you pick, you need to split it evenly between the two parents. If all goes well, you should have a new villager in about 20 minutes, and they’ll grow to adult age in about another 20 minutes. Videogames.
