Gone too soon.

This morning Harmonix released an update on its plans for FUSER in 2022. FUSER is the team’s mix and match DJ rhythm game that came out in 2020.

FUSER will be ending its paid DLC cycle in March and making all the songs in the MIxtape Song packs purchasable as individual tracks. On top of this FUSER will also be winding down its streamer Guest Sessions, which were streams promoted by Harmonix and featured on the FUSER Twitch page.

However, the game will still have regular content updates to the Diamond Shop, including new music items, so don’t ditch all of your diamonds just yet.

It’s hard for music rhythm games to continue to thrive in this day and age when music licensing is incredibly tricky. It’s difficult to stream, and obtaining a library of stream safe music is either a lot of work for the team to clear or can end in potential DMCA for the content creator.

FUSER came out during a global pandemic, and was a way to bridge the gap of live performances that were sorely missed, and are still missed in our current state.

Harmonix is hosting a live stream on its Twitch page at 4: 30 PM EST to talk more about its 2022 update if you want to tune in and see for yourself.
