Pokemon Sword and Shield Ice Stone Guide

So, you’re looking for an Ice Stone in Pokemon Sword, huh? Easy enough to find. You might need one because you’re wanting to follow along with your Pokedex and to evolve one of the following critters that are in your party:

  • Galarian Darumaka
  • Eevee

Obviously, your Eevee is going to turn into a Glaceon, but your Galarian Darumaka is going to turn into a Galarian Darmanitan if you use the Ice Stone. For both Pokemon, this is the only way that they can be evolved, so if you want to finish your Pokedex then you’re going to absolutely have to get one. If you don’t already have a Darumaka you can found one on Route 10 and Route 8, and if you don’t have an Eevee yet then you can probably get one on Route 4. There are a couple of ways to get your hands on an Ice Stone, and we’re going to go through them below.

The easiest way to get your mitts on an Ice Stone is probably to actually pick up the one on Route 9. However, to do so, you’re going to need to have your Rotom bike upgraded to cross bodies of water. Once your bike is upgraded, you’re going to want to head due north from where the bike NPC is, before popping right into the body of water and following the path carved in the ice. You’ll hit a Pokeball which will contain the Ice Stone, and voila! Otherwise, you can obtain it the way you obtain other evolutionary stones – by lottery when you pay the Digging Duo in the Wild Area off to dig something up (which can randomly be an Ice Stone), or by heading to the Stonehenge in the Wild Area which houses a whole bunch of stones that respawn once you’ve cleared them out. Again both of those methods are just chances.

Now that you’ve hopefully found a Pokemon Sword and Shield Ice Stone with our help, and you’ve been able to use it to evolve the Ice Pokemon of your choice, you should be able to flesh your team out a little more. We definitely recommend that you pick this up as early as you can so that you can benefit from a well-rounded team as soon as possible. Need help with anything else in Pokemon Sword and Shield?
