Dhelmise Pokemon Sword and Shield Location

If you’re not quite sure what a Dhelmise is, then you’ve come to the right place. This elusive Pokemon is a Ghost and Grass type Pokemon, but you may not have ever heard of it because it’s, well, ridiculously hard to come across. Terrifyingly enough, its Pokemon Shield Pokedex entry notes that “after lowering its anchor, it waits for its prey. It catches large Wailord and drains their life-force.” Yikes. Talk about an anchor that could put Davy Jones’ ship to shame.

This literal seaweed-wrapped anchor is weak particularly against the following Types of damage:

  • Ghost
  • Dark
  • Flying
  • Fire
  • Ice

However, catching one for yourself is a different story. It has an incredibly low spawn rate across both versions of the game, and you’re only going to be able to get it in two locations. You can find it on Route 9 in Circhester Bay in all weather conditions, and on Route 9 in Outer Spikemuth at the following weather conditions:

  • Overcast
  • Raining
  • Intense Sun
  • Snowing
  • Snowstorm
  • Sandstorm
  • Heavy Fog
  • Thunderstorm

Now that you have the Dhelmise Pokemon Sword and Shield location in hand, it really shouldn’t be too difficult to head on over to Route 9 though this is something that you’ll be doing fairly late in the process of finishing the game. We note that you’re going to need an incredible amount of perseverance to find one mainly because of their drop rate, but they’ll be roaming around if you are indeed lucky and it’s not that hard to spot a creaky old anchor just dragging itself along the ground if you squint.
