Mo fighters, mo problems. Any guesses on who the upcoming mystery fighter will be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The first Nintendo showcase for this year was all about Pokemon, now a new one is slated for later this week to focus on who the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character will be with roughly 35 minutes of new info-y goodness.

The upcoming showcase will go down on January 16th and will be led by director Masahiro Sakurai. Fans can watch the Smash Direct on Nintendo’s socials starting at 6 AM PT. Though advertised as the new DLC character reveal, for 35 minutes it’s likely we’ll be quite a few new drops during that time as well as gameplay breaking down new moves and how the new fighter fits into the roster.

Whoever the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character will be is pretty open, we’ve had some oddballs thrown into the mix with the latest Smash title. We’ve had the Piranha Plant, Fatal Fury’s Tery Bogard, Bando & Kazooie, Dragon Quest’s Hero, and even Joker from Persona 5. With Microsoft and Nintendo working so closely together now, I’m still holding onto the dream that Master Chief will one day join the fight.

Don’t kill my dreams, OK?

Who do you think the mystery Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character will be? Devil May Cry? Resident Evil? More Persona characters? A Baldur’s Gate surprise now that it’s also on the Switch? Any guesses or predictions, shoot them are way over on Twitter @PrimaGames
