Resident Evil isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when we think about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but we’ll sure take it! Nintendo announced on their Nintendo Versus Twitter account the latest mashup following the Pokemon Sword and Shield Spirit Boards event and it comes bearing Leon friggin’ Kennedy.

The latest mashup to occur goes live on November 29th, just after the American holiday Thanksgiving. It will run for just five days and feature mainstays from the horror franchise including Jill, Wesker, Chris, and (naturally) Leon himself.

While we don’t know anything more beyond that at this time, this does also shut up another rumor that’s been circulating. The upcoming Spirit Boards event does mean that we won’t be getting any Resident Evil DLC characters as fighters, which has been circulating wildly over the past month. While a bummer for many, we do know that Nintendo still has quite a few surprises up their sleeve regarding who will be joining the roster next but for now, we must content ourselves with this awesome Spirit Boards event dropping later this week.

As for the game itself, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Speaking of Spirit Events, what other mashups would you like to see in the future of the fighting game? Any dream characters you’d like to see join the official fighter roster? Hit us up with your wants and dreams over on Twitter @PrimaGames, we’d love to hear your thoughts!
