How to Glide in Mario Kart Tour

We’ve already got a guide on ranking up and reaching Tier 5 in Mario Kart Tour, but to be the best then you should definitely master all the different mechanics that are available to you in this game. We’re talking about gliding in particular here, and if you’ve laid hands on a Mario Kart game before then you probably already know where we’re going with this information.

If you’re a kart racing novice, then you’re going to find our tips handy. You can activate gliding in Mario Kart Tour by hitting a boost pad. When this happens, you’ll find that you’ve magically got a glider to work with. Nifty, huh? However, here’s the tricky part: actually making the use of it. If you’re smart, you can definitely gain ground on those in front of you as long as you don’t stick a premature landing.

Once you’ve hit the blue boost pad and you’re airborne, your job is to stay that way for as long as possible. If you swipe up, you’ll be closer to landing. If you swipe down, you’ll get a little bit of lift. You can continue to strafe left and right to avoid obstacles during this time, so make sure that you’re on the alert for anything in the sky that could cut your joyride short. As long as you’re keeping the directional cues in mind and trying to limit collisions, you’ll have a pretty foolproof strategy. Keep an eye on the ground so you’re not depriving yourself of other items or perks by staying in the air. Now that you’ve got our guide on How to Glide in Mario Kart Tour handy, making your way around the circuits should be much smoother.
