Mario Kart Tour to Sunset New Content After October Update

End of the road for Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart Tour will have its final update on October 4. Afterward, the game will no longer receive any new content. This will wrap up a 4-year cycle of content that has seen plenty of great go-kart racing tracks, from remastered classic tracks to new tracks that eventually made their way to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

This news comes in the form of a notification in Mario Kart Tour itself in which the schedule for the upcoming events is revealed. A blurb of information after the schedule informs players that the game will no longer receive any updates after the last Battle Tour begins and that the game will no longer receive any new content once this tour begins.

From October 4 onwards, Mario Kart Tour players will only see previous Tours content rather than any new content. No new courses, drivers, karts, or gliders will be added following the Battle Tour. The message ends with a wish from Nintendo for its players to continue enjoying Mario Kart Tour after sunsetting as the game crosses its update finish line.

Of course, the ending of Mario Kart Tour’s update development will begin to open the floodgates for rumors of a new installment in the series. Especially since both it and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are coincidentally going to stop receiving updates at nearly the same time. Still, it can’t be denied that Mario Kart Tour made an impact on the mobile scene and may pave the way for the series’ future.
