Nightstar Sand can be found on the sandy beaches of Feybreak Island. While there are some beaches to the south, players should stick to the northern section of the island near the Scorched Ash fast travel statue to quickly get the resource.

Nightstar Sand can be collected on the beaches regardless of time, but are very easy to spot once the sun goes down. Giant brightly-colored patches will appear on the sand, and players only need to walk over and interact with the spots to get Nightstar Sand. Players can even gather the resource while riding on a Pal to make gathering much faster.

Nightstar Sand is used to build gear and weapons that can be unlocked form the Technology menu. One of the most important pieces of gear is the Metal Detector, which allows players to find Chromite for other endgame structures. Here is what players can build with Nightstar Sand:

  • Anti-Gravity Belt – Level 29
  • Air Dash Boots – Level 34
  • Double Jump Boots – Level 39
  • Double Air Dash Boots – Level 54
  • Metal Detector – Level 56
  • Advanced Bow – Level 57
  • Beam Sword – Level 57
  • Triple Jump Boots – Level 58

The Metal Detector and weapons will require regular Technology Points to unlock, but the various movement accessories will need Ancient Technology Points in the Technology menu. The agility-based gear will be helpful for players in the midgame to move around easier, but endgame players will have an armory of other tools and Pals to help get around the environment.
