What does the Enhanced Blitz Mission Modifier in Warhammer 40K Darktide Do? – Answered

Players can choose between a variety of missions with varying levels of difficulty in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. The Mission Terminal has been revamped since launch and offers a clear look at the difficulty, mission type, main objective of said mission, and even modifiers for Maelstrom missions. However, one thing that can be improved is an in-game explanation of these modifiers and how these affect different classes. One of the more common and confusing modifiers is Enhanced Blitz, and here is what it does in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

Enhanced Blitz Mission Modifier in Darktide Explained

When selecting a Maelstrom mission, players will sometimes get an “Enhanced Blitz” modifier. This increases the amount of Blitz carried by the characters and is incredibly useful for builds centered around effectively using Blitz.

Blitz refers to grenades in Warhammer 40K: Darktide; three out of four classes use them. Each of these classes has unique Blitz types that they can select in their talents tree. Here is how “Enhanced Blitz” affects each class.

ClassEnhanched Blitz Impact
Veteran+2 Grenades of selected Blitz
Zealot+2 Grenades of selected Blitz
Ogryn+2 Grenades of selected Blitz
PsykerReduces Peril cost of Brain Burst, Smite, or Assail
Gives +2 Assail charges

For Veteran and Ogryn, this is one of the best modifiers they can work around with, and you’ll be lobbing grenades like no tomorrow.

Since the Psyker already has infinite Brain Burst and Smite, the reduction in Peril cost thanks to “Enhanced Blitz” can be quite useful. Additionally, the added Assail charges aren’t bad to have.

However, when it comes to raw damage and effectiveness, the Veteran gets the most benefit overall, especially if you run him with a build that has the following.

TalentEffect
Grenade TinkererImproves chosen grenade
Krak Grenade: +50% Damage
Frag Grenade: +25% Damage & Radius
Smoke Grenade: +100% Duration
GrenadierIncreases the amount of grenades you can carry by one
Twinned Blast20% chance to throw an additional grenade while only consuming one
Demolition StockpileReplenish one grenade every 60 seconds
Demolition Team5% chance of replenishing a grenade when you or a team member kills an elite or specialist

These talents, combined with “Enhanced Blitz,” will tear through crowds with ease.

Maelstrom Missions with Enhanced Blitz

The following Maelstorm missions will have the Enhanced Blitz modifier.

Maelstorm Mission CodeDescription and Modifiers
I-II-V-E-GWaves of Specialists Enemies. Nurgle’s Blessing. Monstrous Specialists. Only Scab faction. Enhanced Blitz.
D-I-IV-IX-GWaves of Specialist Enemies. Snipers. Extra Poxbursters. Extra barrels. Enhanced Blitz.
D-III-VII-IX-GHunting Grounds. Extra Poxbursters. Waves of Mutants. Enhanced Blitz. Extra Barrels.
S-III-VI-IX-GHunting Grounds. Extra Poxbursters. Waves of Mutants. Enhanced Blitz. Extra Barrels.

Overall, it’s one of the most fun modifiers when playing Maelstrom missions and complements a good Blitz build. If you’re playing as a Veteran, though, it’s important to choose the right Blitz in Darktide to get the most damage and utility.
