How to Insert Modules into Weapons in The First Descendant

Another power spike for your Descendant.

The First Descendant has several ways of increasing player power in the game. You have weapon upgrades, external components, and reactors. But one often overlooked feature is modules. There are two types of modules: Descendant modules and weapon modules. Here’s a guide specifically on how you can insert modules into your weapons in the First Descendant and get those power boosts. We’ll also answer frequently asked questions like “Do they disappear when you dismantle the weapon?”

How to Put Modules in Weapons in The First Descendant

To equip your modules, go to your inventory screen and look for your equipped weapons. A tiny icon next to it pops up when you hover near it. Select that icon to go to the modules page.

When you open the modules page, you’ll see all your weapon modules for the weapon ammo type you are modding. Each weapon module has a tiny icon that specifies the weapon ammo type they are used for.

For example, there are four weapon ammo types: general, impact, special, and high-power rounds. Each weapon module will have one of those four weapon-type icons. When you start equipping modules on your specific weapon type, the module configuration set will be for every weapon you equip of the same kind.

Here is the confusing part. When I say the same kind, I mean the exact name of the weapon. If you go to the weapon list, you’ll see a rough list of all the weapons in the game. They all have specific names. If you get a Devil’s Call submachine gun early in the game, you may also get it in different endgame activities, making it more powerful.

The level of the weapon changes, including the DPS and stats. However, the weapon modules you have equipped will remain the same for the Devil’s Call submachine guns once you have set them up. Since there are hundreds of weapons in the game, you’ll have to set up your weapon modules every time you pick up a new one.

Do You Lose Your Modules When You Unequip the Weapons?

The answer is no. Weapon modules are set to the weapon in your weapon settings, as seen in the image above. If you dismantle the weapon with the modules, you’ll retain these modules once you get another weapon of the same kind, e.g. Thunder Cage weapon.

You have a default module inventory of 1,000. If you take a look at your equipped weapon modules, it’ll say how many modules you have on the lower right portion of your screen. I dismantled multiple weapons while equipping the weapon modules, and my weapon modules remained the same.

You only lose modules by dismantling or combining them from Silion, the Module Master, in Albion.

Best Way to Strengthen Your Weapon Modules in The First Descendant

If you ever reach the endgame, you should visit Silion, the Module Master. You’ll unlock some of its features, like combining modules, when you reach mastery rank 9.

Combining and enhancing modules is another overlooked mechanic that gives the player a ton of power. If you ever get some of those Transcendent modules, you should start upgrading them. You can also combine modules to get a better version. These are mostly used for your lower rarity weapon modules to clear some space.

Most of the strongest weapon modules drop from Void Missions, and you need to start farming Void Shards to start these missions. It’ll be a long grind, but that’s where the fun begins.
