How to Level Up Fast in The First Descendant

The grind begins today!

The First Descendant’s leveling system plays a massive role in its progression. There are a lot of mechanics that are usually tied to the player level in games, but in The First Descendant, your main power depends heavily on it. Here’s how you can level up fast in The First Descendant and ramp up your progression straight to the endgame.

Best Way to Level Up Fast in The First Descendant

The best way to level up is to play missions, preferably the main quests. You can roam around each area and go through sub-quests while eliminating all the enemies in your path, but it is a slow XP grind. You want to play the main quests as much as possible since you’ll unlock a main quest that brings you to a main story mission where you finish a dungeon with a final boss at the end.

You can run this publicly or with three other players in the game’s matchmaking system. These main missions give the most experience points, and you should capitalize on finishing them as fast as possible.

You can also run Void Intercept Battles, but these are mostly for farming materials and items. They give decent XP, but not as much as the main story. You’ll want to mix these up if you want to unlock other Descendants through the Amorphous Materials.

How to Get EXP Gain Bonuses in The First Descendant

There are ways you can get Descendant EXP Gain bonuses, but you will not like where you get it from. These bonuses are bundled in the shop or the game’s Battle Pass. The most cost-effective way to get them is through the Battle Pass, which also gives you some Kuiper Gain boosts and other useful materials and cosmetics.

It is a free game, so they have to get their money. It isn’t mandatory, and these boosts only last for a day, depending on which one you get. When you get one of these, you’ll have to use it efficiently and blast through the missions once the boost is activated.

There is also another way to get an EXP Gain boost for free: external components. You can find an external component, specifically a Sensor, with the stat “Character EXP Gain Modifier X.” These are very small numbers but add up when you grind for hours on end to level up.

In the end, it also depends on your skill and consistency since if you finish the missions faster, you will level up faster. You can start memorizing the controls or even play with a buddy to finish things faster.
