When using Incineroar to challenge Gyms, its best moveset is Snarl and Darkest Lariat. Starting with the March 2024 Litten Community Day, Incineroar can learn the Charge Move Darkest Lariat, which is stronger than its second strongest Dark-type attack, Dark Pulse.

If you already have a strong Dark-type Pokemon ready to tackle Gyms, you can instead opt for a Fire-based moveset with Fire Fang and Blast Burn, Incineroar’s exclusive move from the March 2024 Community Day. If you evolve a Torracat into an Incineroar during a Litten Community Day (using 100 Litten Candy), it will automatically know Blast Burn. If you’re unable to teach Incineroar Blast Burn, however, Blaze Kick is its next best option.

Best Defensive Incineroar Pokemon GO Gym Battle Moveset

If you’re leaving your Incineroar to defend a Gym you’ve already defeated, you’ll want its Quick Move to be Fire Fang instead of Snarl. Thanks to all those Chansey and Blissey spotting their allies at almost every Gym, many Trainers will have plenty of Fighting types ready to strike back, making Snarl generally less effective than Fire Fang.

Blaze Kick is the best Charge Move for Incineroar in this case, too. Blast Burn does more damage, so you can keep it if your Incineroar already knows it, but it’s much easier to dodge than Blaze Kick.

Best Incineroar Moveset for the Pokemon GO Battle League (PvP)

Incineroar may be one of the greatest Fire-type Pokemon in the main series games and VGC, but it’s thankfully nowhere near as oppressive in Pokemon GO. It may not be the best Fire-type here, but you can still use it with the right moves. Give it Snarl for its Quick Move and Blast Burn for its Charge Move. If you have the Stardust (10,000) and Litten Candy (25) to teach it a second Charge Move, go for Darkest Lariat for coverage. Snarl will charge the moves quickly, and they will dish out the most Fire- and Dark-type damage when they connect.

Incineroar is currently most effective in Ultra League, followed by Great League. If you have your sights set on Master League, your best choices are legendary Pokemon such as Mewtwo, Ho-oh, and Dialga.
