Ho-Oh is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss in Pokemon Go currently. It has a max capture CP of 3,863. It has 45,702 Hp, so it’s going to take a bit to whittle it down. Luckily, we have some tips to help make the process a little easier.
Pokemon Go | Ho-Oh Raid Counters
As far as defeating Ho-Oh in a raid it’s best to use a Pokemon with Smack Down. That means a Smack Down Tyranitar will do massive damage to Ho-Oh.
If you don’t have this moveset on your current team Rock Throw is also a good counter for this raid. Pokemon like Landorus or Aerodactyl are extremely viable even with Ho-Oh having Solar Beam.
Zapdos, Raikou, Kyogre, and Rayquaza are all excellent raid counters for Ho-oh as well. Even with Solar Beam, Kyogre is tanky enough to take a few hits.
If you can fight Ho-Oh during partly cloudy weather, that will be your best bet. It powers up rock type moves.
Rock attacks will deal 256% damage, electric will do 160%, and Water will also do 160% damage to Ho-Oh. The best moves for Ho-oh include Incinerate and Brave Bird, which are absolute must-haves.
Can You Catch a Shiny Ho-Oh?
Now I’m sure you’re wondering if you can get a shiny Ho-Oh through the raids and the answer is yes. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s totally possible!
You’ll just have to participate in a lot of raids to increase your chances of finding one.
You’ll find Ho-Oh at level 25 when raiding, with a max level of 40, just like every other Pokemon currently in the game.
