The end of Astarion’s companion quest brings you to Cazador who is a dangerous vampire lord in Baldur’s Gate 3. His fight can be tough to beat without any preparation, but with the right moves, he goes down fast.
How to Defeat Cazador in BG3
Shoving Cazador off the edge of the arena is the best way to beat the vampire boss in Baldur’s Gate 3. You should move some of your party members as close as you can to the boss while the dialogue before the fight is still going. Don’t let Astarion get too close, though. He is the only member that you want to keep on the edge of the arena.
As soon as Astarion gets too close, he will be chained in the arena just like the other Vampire Spawn that are ready for sacrifice. Then you either have to free Astarion with another party member or go for the kill with one less move. Either way, it makes dealing with the boss and all the minions in the room much more annoying.
Tips to Beat Cazador in BG3:
- Use Radiant Damage spells like Daylight at the start.
- Keep Astarion away from the arena.
- Use the shove action with your Party members to push Cazador into the chasm.
With Astarion free and Cazador ready for a battle, you simply want to get your party members close to the boss and shove him. After a few turns, Cazador should be close enough to the edge where you can just push him off entirely and he dies. Make sure to use some Radiant Damage spells like Daylight to nerf his abilities.
Once Cazador falls to his death in BG3, the fight is over, and his body spawns back in the center coffin. You can claim the loot for this fight without any issues, which is what makes pushing him to his death different from other boss battles. Most of the time, you don’t want to lose all that loot. Luckily for us, we can simply shove the vile vampire and take what we are owed.
With the boss down, take his key and head over to the Counting House for some additional loot.
