Photo Mode Confirmed for Baldur’s Gate 3

One of the most requested features for Baldur’s Gate 3 was photo mode. Players have been dying to pose their characters and party members in all sorts of formations, expressions, and layouts. There are over 40 different poses to choose from in a scene, and as expected, players can choose to hide different party members and enemies as well.

The photo mode allows players to adjust the camera, lens, and scene in multiple ways. Players can add post-processing effects to the scene, frames, and over 300 stickers including emojis, icons, blood splatters, textures, objects and items, and even cat ears.

How To Access Photo Mode in Baldur’s Gate 3

Once Patch 3 is out in 2025, players can toggle photo mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 from the HUD, located near the minimap, by clicking F9 on the keyboard, or by pressing both analog sticks at the same time on the controller.

Crossplay Support Announced for Baldur’s Gate 3

Crossplay support is finally coming to Baldur’s Gate 3 with Patch 8, and players will be able to pair up with their friends regardless of the platform they’re on.

The crossplay feature is optional, and players can keep it disabled if they prefer that. Additionally, full cross-platform progression has been confirmed for Baldur’s Gate 3 as well.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 New Subclasses

Finally, Larian has announced that each starter class is getting a new subclass for players to try out. These will include new abilities, animations, VFX, summons and cantrips, and unique voiced dialogue lines for the Oathbreaker Knight with written reactivity for Oathbreakers.

Here are all the subclasses coming in Patch 8:

  • College of Glamour – Bard
  • Path of Giants – Barbarian
  • Death Domain – Cleric
  • Circle of Stars – Druid
  • Oath of the Crown – Paladin
  • Arcane Archer – Fighter
  • Drunken Master – Monk
  • Swarmkeeper – Ranger
  • Swashbuckler – Rogue
  • Shadow Magic – Sorcerer
  • Hexblade – Warlock
  • Bladesinging – Wizard

Although Larian Studios previously announced that they wouldn’t be creating any major new content for Baldur’s Gate 3, these classes provide a wealth of fresh ways to experience the seminal RPG. If you’ve waited this long to start Baldur’s Gate 3, it might be worth holding off a little longer until Patch 8 releases next year.
