Rockstar Games, hot on the heels of announcing a release period for Grand Theft Auto V and unveiling some new promo screenshots, was set to release a new trailer showing off more of the city where the game will take place. Unfortunately, a force of nature prevented them from doing so – namely, Hurricane Sandy.

In an update to fans, Rockstar stated it is “working on a second trailer.”

“Unfortunately Hurricane Sandy has derailed our plans somewhat but we will have something to show soon,” the developer guaranteed.

Since Rockstar’s main offices are in the midst of Manhattan, they’re certainly feeling the affects of this storm. “It’s hard to be precise as we have no power whatsoever in our New York office,” they stated. “We hope everyone else in affected areas is doing okay.”

While you wait, though, keep in mind that the next issue of Game Informer magazine will be focused primarily on the new game, with plenty of details and screenshots to hold you over. So if you’re not a subscriber yet, you might consider joining the club.

Grand Theft Auto V will release sometime after March 2013. We’re guessing May.
