Can You Pause Armored Core 6? – Answered

Can you take a break if you need to?

Sometimes, you just need to take a break from the action and catch your breath after eliminating a rather vicious enemy. However, plenty of FromSoftware games do not allow players to properly pause, so finding a safe place where you know you will not be attacked is rather important. It’s a little difficult to hide in Armored Core 6, however, because you’re piloting a giant mech. Can you just straight up pause the game, or will you need to head back to where you came to avoid getting trounced by an enemy when something comes up?

Does Armored Core 6 Have A Pause Button?

The simple answer is yes, you can pause your game in Armored Core 6. You won’t need to run and hide toward a previously safe location to avoid getting your mech destroyed here, as FromSoftware has implemented a standard pause button like many other games on the market. No convoluted menu prompts, just the simple tap of a button.

While some fans may feel betrayed by this familiar staple of more modern FromSoftware games being removed, I’m personally beyond thankful to be able to pause this game. It’s overly action-packed, providing exciting and bombastic combat experiences that players can enjoy in either single-player or Multiplayer options.

However, if you do decide to jump into the Multiplayer mode, you’re going to be on your own. There is no pausing here since everybody is going to be connected to a server and engaging in epic battles. This is the standard for multiplayer games, but you are still able to bring up menus in that familiar FromSoftware fashion. This is the closest you’re going to get to your Dark Souls/Elden Ring pause menu here.

No matter if this is your first foray into the world of Armored Core, or if you’ve been waiting patiently for 10 years, it seems that FromSoftware has gone above and beyond to make sure that this entry into the franchise is one to be remembered. No matter if you’re planning to game on the go with your Steam Deck, or jump in for the highest graphical quality version you can get on PC, be sure to check out our Armored Core VI section below to learn everything you can about the game.
